What is Mental Health First Aid Training?
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England) is an internationally recognised training programme, designed to help people understand the impact of stigma, and spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.
This training is suitable for adults (aged 16+) who want to develop their understanding of mental ill health. With ABC Life Support we foster a supportive, nurturing and engaging learning environment. We’re encouraging as many people as possible to learn these essential life skills, so whether you’re an individual who just wants to learn or a professional who wants to take the next step in their career, these courses are open to the public and held at venues across England.
Why is Mental Health First Aid important?
With 1 in 4 people living at any one time with a diagnosable mental health condition in the UK, it’s never been more important for people to be able to support their employees, loved ones and people in the community.
This training is designed to teach you about the common mental health problems people face, including how to spot them, how to discuss them, and, most importantly, how to help someone who is suffering.
An MHFA England course is also designed to improve your own mindfulness and wellbeing, and will provide actionable tips on how to create and maintain a healthier lifestyle, workforce, or community. Call us on 0800 0467 410 or contact us for more information on first aid training and mental health courses.
